Cognitive behavioural theory is another effective treatment for these attacks. Exposure therapy is also done to some patients of attack where the person is exposed to the panicky sensations in a safe and controlled environment. Antidepressants and Benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety drugs) are prescribed by some doctors. While antidepressants need weeks to work, the Benzodiazepines act within 30 minutes from its intake.
