Electronics and Electrical Engineering is perpetually on demand because it plays a critical role in people’s lives and global economies. In response to the opportunities that abundantly exist, companies and startups have emerged, where individuals with background training convert their ideas and knowledge into viable business ventures. For instance, global challenges have emerged because of the unacceptably high volume of e-waste produced by global consumers. In India, EcoCentric has made a critical contribution to the safety and wellbeing of residents because of its ability to segregate toxic substances before safe disposal. On the same note, LG has partnered with other companies in India to enhance effective and safe e-waste management. The two companies demonstrate the need for electrical and electrical engineers to put their skills and knowledge to gainful use.
One could apply knowledge in the theory of electromagnetism in these companies by providing expertise and consulting services and encouraging them to seize the opportunities available to make the world safer and cleaner. When given a chance, I would use my knowledge and expertise in the field of electromagnetism to reduce the cost of e-waste management to enhance the safety of homes and neighborhoods. On the same note, I would create awareness about the effective management of e-waste. In this respect, the contribution I would make would focus on enabling the safe collection of electric and electrical products for subsequent safe disposal.
