This winter season was a killer. I packed on 5 pounds at thanksgiving and it never left. Xmas came and the 5 pounds ended up being thirteen. Add in new years festivities and I was nearly twenty pounds larger and lets just say that I wasn’t in that great of shape initially. It seemed like a downhill slope and unless you are on skis, that never feels great.
That was me, five years ago. Fat, weak and worn out. I recognized that I needed to do something concerning my weight yet I always found a “reason” not to. This time was different. I hit an all-time low with my body weight and with my body fat ratio. I was disgusted enough to make a change and decided that I would never be this fat and weak anymore. Believe me, this was an endeavor. I was the guy that owned all sort of workout DVD’s, diet plans and supplements that always ended up with the same result-collecting dust bunnies on my shelf.
This time was going to be different.
I made myself stick to my diet and refused to miss out on a workout. I quit giving in to giving up and I buckled down about my health and wellness. Working out literally became a component of my life and now I don’t know just what I would do without it. This is the vital component to making anything in your life work. You need to choose that you are going to do this… not “well, I’ll give it a try”.
