Making A House Your Home Article

How can someone, transform, a house, which is merely, a piece of real estate, and a financial asset, into a HOME, and hopefully, the home – of – one’s dreams? Although, we call the process, potential buyers, house – hunting, once, one, owns it, we refer to them, as homeowners! After, more than 15 years, as a Real Estate Licensed Salesperson, in the State of New York, I have come to believe, someone, only, fully enjoys, and appreciates, their house, when they consider it, in a more, emotionally – connected state, of being a homeowner! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means, and represents, and why it matters.
1. Healing; head/ heart; humanity/ humane; health/ healthy: Although, for most of us, the asset value of their house, represents their single – biggest, financial asset, unless/ until, one feels, living there, and enjoying, doing so, is a healing process, they can’t effectively complete this important transformation! To do so, often, means, effectively using the finest aspects, of one’s logical, as well as emotional components, in a head/ heart balance, and ending – up, feeling healthier, and happier, by living, where one feels this sense of satisfaction, and happiness! Remember, the process, only occurs, effectively, when/ if, one prioritizes the humane aspects, and considers, his residence, to enhance his personal humanity!
2. Options; organize; odors; opportunities: Whether one purchases, a new, or a previously, lived – in, house, and no matter, if it is supposedly, move – in – ready, or a fixer – upper (either, to a small, or significant degree), nearly, everyone, seeks to customize it, once they decide, to make it, theirs! Which options do you need, want, wish – for, and/ or, consider, in the future, and why? How will you organize it, to serve you personal needs, etc? Differentiate between odors, which bother/ disturb you, as opposed to those, which you sense, as desirable aromas! Do the bones – of – the – property, present meaningful, personally relevant opportunities, in, both, the immediate, as well as longer – term?
3. Motivating; meaningful; make mark: Does home ownership, feel motivating, and inspiring, and make your life, feel more meaningful, and fulfilling? Does the process, help you make your mark, towards a happier, more personally, satisfying, experience?
4. Energy/ energizing; efforts; excellence; enduring; enrich: This transformation becomes meaningful, when/ if, it enriches your life experiences, and how, you feel about yourself! Will this feel be enduring, and will it enhance your feelings of personal excellence? Does home ownership feel energizing, and does your energy, make the efforts, valuable, to you?
When you begin to perceive your house, as your HOME, the entire meaning, of the American Dream, of home ownership, becomes far more than a mere concept! Will you seek to make this transformation?
