In early childhood education, the cost of high-quality private childcare programs disadvantages low-income children and families in accessing quality education. The argument is whether childcare subsidies should be universal or targeted. Governed by the Build Back Better Act, childcare subsidies were intended for all children to ease financial burdens on families. However, some policymakers argue that subsidies only fund childcare for low-income families. From a theoretical argument approach, the post-research examines the authors’ opposing positions on how childcare subsidies would benefit all children, ease financial burdens on families, and increase childcare availability and wages if allocated universally. On the other hand, the article’s co-editors, Decker & Kelly concluded that all low-income families would benefit from targeted subsidies, which grant access to other federally funded benefits. Fundamentally, childcare is essential to many families around the world. Affording high-quality childcare is vital in determining parents’ employment abilities. “Mothers are disproportionately responsible for childcare, meaning access to affordable, reliable, and high-quality childcare is critical to their employment, earnings, and careers” (Yavorsky & Ruppanner, 2022). Although some household incomes are higher than others, a federally funded childcare subsidy would not only ease financial burdens, but it would also provide all children with equal opportunities to receive a high-quality learning experience.
Discuss your approach to writing an abstract- My approach to this abstract is to capture the audience’s attention by providing evidence-based research that would provide validity to concerning issues in an efficient manner. In doing so, I wanted to be authentic in the way I present my research, which would allow the audience to understand the nature of the content.
Share anything you found easy or difficult about the abstract writing process- What I found easy about writing this abstract is the topic of the matter. The topic is relatable on both aspects of personal experiences and from a leader standpoint. Based on my personal experiences, this abstract would allow me to gain a better understanding of the topic without bias.
