Starbucks Mission Statement and Six Principles

From Starbucks’ six principles, one principle that would be most appealing to me if I was an employee at Starbuck would be the first principle. The first principle involves Starbucks providing an ideal working environment where people treat each other with respect and dignity. The first principle appeals to me because I prefer to work with an organization that values me and supports my professional development. Starbucks ensures the workplace is favorable for employees and gives employees ownership of the company (Starbucks, 2020). As a result, this ensures that employees share in the rewards of financial success. Also, through these principles, employees attain a high level of engagement that strengthens the partnership concept that this principle endorses.
I think Starbucks should consider rewriting its sixth principle, which states that Starbucks recognizes that profitability is essential to its future success. The future success of Starbucks is mainly dependent on its partnership strategy and strategic positioning. Therefore, Starbuck should rewrite this sixth principle to contain the partnership strategy and strategic positioning that has strengthened the brand’s resilience and positions the company for long-term growth. The change is stated in Starbuck’s strategy for future growth post-pandemic (Starbuck, 2020).
Starbuck’s mission is to “inspure and nurture the human spirit-one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time”(Starbucks Coffee Company, 2021). I can compare it to Airbnb’s mission which is “To live in the world where one day you can feel like you’re home anywhere
